Syracuse, Sicily, a city steeped in rich cultural heritage and home to the renowned Greek Theater. The Inda Foundation, in collaboration with the Municipality and the Archaeological Park of Syracuse, the Region, the Ministry of Culture, and esteemed private supporters, is proud to present the 58th cycle of classical performances scheduled at the Greek Theater of Syracuse for the 2023 season. Prepare to be captivated by a series of exceptional shows and immerse yourself in the vibrant arts scene of this historic city.


The Calendar of Shows


From May 11th to July 2nd, the Greek Theater of Syracuse will host an exciting lineup of events for the 2023 season. This year's program features four new appointments, including classic tragedies and groundbreaking theatrical projects. Be prepared to embark on a journey through time as these performances bring ancient tales to life on the stage.


The season kicks off with the debut of Aeschylus' "Prometheus Chained," directed by Leo Muscato and translated by Roberto Vecchioni. Next, be mesmerized by Euripides' "Medea," directed by Federico Tiezzi and translated by Massimo Fusillo. The ancient stones of the Greek theater will witness the first-ever performance of Aristophanes' comedy, "Peace," directed by Daniele Salvo. Finally, the season culminates with "Ulysses – The Last Odyssey," a captivating new work directed by Giuliano Peparini. Join Homer as he recounts Ulysses' tumultuous journey through twelve pivotal stages. These are just a taste of what the 2023 season has in store. Ticket Information


To ensure your attendance at one of the spectacular shows during the 58th cycle of classical performances, a variety of ticket options and rates are available. Ticket prices may vary depending on the selected day and seat location. Starting from €35, you can secure your place in sector S, while the very first rows offer a premium experience for €67. Reduced fares are available for seniors, students, and groups of more than 20 people. Schools can take advantage of special rates at €25 per ticket. It's never too early to secure your spot, as tickets for the new season are already available for purchase online through the authorized TicketOne.it ticket office circuit.


Special Offers and Syracuse Days


To enhance your experience, several promotional initiatives have been introduced for the 2023 season. Single-price days, where tickets for all seats are priced at €28, are scheduled on specific dates for each show. Additionally, Syracuse days offer residents of the province exclusive access to tickets for only €15.   • May: 12th, 14th, 16th (single price), 18th, 20th, 24th (single price), 26th, 28th, and 30th.
  • June: 1st, 3rd, 10th, 12th (single price), 14th, 16th, 18th, 20th, 22nd, and 24th.


Aristophanes' Peace (Season 2023):

  • June: 9th, 11th, 13th (single price), 15th, 17th, 19th, 21st, and 23rd.


Ulysses – The Last Odyssey (Season 2023):

Ticket Purchase and Information


Tickets for shows in Syracuse can be purchased online at the TicketOne.it authorized ticket office circuit. However, tickets for Syracuse days are exclusively available at the Corso Matteotti ticket office and the Greek Theater box office. Residents of the Municipality of Syracuse and surrounding areas can purchase a maximum of two tickets by presenting a valid identification document.
